Final Fantasy X-2 - PS2

Final Fantasy X-2 - PS2

Final Fantasy X-2 on PS2 is a role-playing game (RPG) that directly follows the events of Final Fantasy X.

The story takes place two years after Sin's defeat and follows Yuna, the former summoner, on a new adventure. Joined by Rikku (her cousin) and Paine (a stoic new character), Yuna forms a group of sphere hunters called the Gullwings. Their quest begins when they discover a mysterious sphere containing an image of a man who looks strangely like Tidus, the missing hero of Final Fantasy X.

The gameplay of Final Fantasy X-2 differs from its predecessor. It introduces a dynamic job-change system called the "Dressphere System", allowing characters to switch roles in real time during combat, each with its own skills and stats. The combat system is faster and more action-oriented. The story is structured into missions divided into chapters, offering a more non-linear approach to storytelling than Final Fantasy X. The game explores themes of loss, grief, new beginnings and finding one's own path in a world in flux after the disappearance of Sin.
