Kingdom Exhibition in Okinawa in 2024: JapanResell's Founding Manga ⚔️

Yasuhisa Hara's celebrated historical manga, Kingdom, was a major inspiration for JapanResell. This masterpiece, which chronicles Shin's rise to fame in Warring States period China, continues to captivate millions of readers worldwide.

Published in Weekly Young Jump (Shueisha) since 2006, Kingdom vividly depicts the dreams of greatness of an orphaned boy who becomes a general, ready to unite all of China under one banner. “During the Warring States era, ordinary young men like Shin dreamed of reaching the heights of power by wielding their swords and determination.”

In April 2024, we traveled to Okinawa in person to attend the final date of the Kingdom exhibition. A highly symbolic moment for JapanResell, a chance to meet the work that gave birth to our project.

This visit had a special meaning for us: it was thanks to Kingdom that we, the two partners of JapanResell, met. A shared passion for this universe, its values and its history was the starting point of our entrepreneurial adventure. • Badges, stickers and acrylic stands illustrating the greatest manga characters.

Shueisha Manga-Art Legacy: When works transcend the limits of their genre.

Shueisha Manga-Art Legacy: When works transcend the limits of their genre.
The world of manga has continued to captivate millions of readers across the globe, marking popular culture with unique stories and worlds. However, the Shueisha Manga-Art Heritage initiative takes this art form to the next level, transforming iconic pages into pieces of art worthy of being exhibited in the galleries of the most prestigious museums.
At a time when cultural works are increasingly ephemeral, it seemed important for Shueisha to preserve and celebrate the artistic essence of manga.

One of the distinctive features of Shueisha Manga-Art Heritage is its ability to combine ancient and contemporary production methods. The company uses ancestral techniques to manufacture its works such as German letterpress presses from the 1960s, for its series of monochrome works or phototype, considered the oldest printing technique using pigment ink and gelatin for its prints. All these printing methods add the purest form of authenticity and a historical dimension to each print.

Shueisha Manga-Art Heritage does not simply reproduce pages from famous manga, it transforms them into art objects with deep meaning. Collaborations with artists and iconic scene choices enrich the project. For example, works from legendary manga such as One Piece , Bleach and The Rose of Versailles are part of the collections, these choices often being influenced by reader preferences or specific themes selected for their artistic value.

Shueisha Manga-Art Heritage stands in the world of Japanese animation as a bridge between past and present, between craftsmanship and technology, between present and future generations. It honors manga as a legitimate art form and transcends its limitations by transforming it into unique and timeless works.

Shueisha Manga-Art Heritage is a perfect example of how Japanese culture fuses tradition and innovation to create works that captivate and inspire the world.

The world of Bleach meets fashion: Exclusive collaboration between Tite Kubo and Maison Margiela

The world of Bleach meets fashion: Exclusive collaboration between Tite Kubo and Maison Margiela

When the soul of Bleach meets Maison Margiela
In a world where the boundaries between art and fashion are blurring, few collaborations manage to resonate. The one between Tite Kubo, creator of the Bleach universe, and Maison Margiela is one of them. The December 2024 issue of UOMO magazine unveils a never-before-seen illustration, a cross between Kubo's style and Margiela's bold elegance. This brilliantly executed union goes beyond the usual to become a celebration of art.

Maison Margiela, a symbol of deconstruction and reinvention, dives into the world of Bleach with an unprecedented creative breath. This collaboration stands out as a unique artistic approach where manga meets haute couture thanks to the artistic talent of Tite Kubo.

At the heart of the partnership is a series of exclusive illustrations by Kubo-sensei himself, works that revisit his characters from an artistic perspective, inspired by the clean lines of the house of Margiela. The collaboration has come to life with the support of Dover Street Market Ginza, where a window installation presents Kubo’s new creations from October 26 to November 24, 2024.

This initiative highlights the impact of Bleach beyond the boundaries of animation and manga, in line with Klub Outside products, asserting itself as a work at the crossroads of the worlds of art and fashion!
